Welcome

Aptly described as “an exquisite collection of local voices,*” the Bach and Handel Chorale was founded by Randall D. Perry in 1984 in anticipation of the 300th anniversaries of Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel. Since that time the Chorale has made a significant contribution to the cultural development of Carbon County.

The Chorale continues in its dedication to performing the works of Bach, Handel, and other masters. In addition to its two principal concerts each year and its seasonal Christmas and Lenten-Easter programs, the Chorale frequently presents special performances and benefit concerts throughout eastern Pennsylvania.

Message from the Artistic Director and Conductor

Dear Friends of The Bach and Handel Chorale,

It is with great pride that we enter our 27th year of providing choral and orchestral music to the county of Carbon and the greater Northeast. We have been blessed with many devoted singers, committee members and people who work behind the scenes. Without all of these people, The Bach and Handel Chorale would not exist.

We are excited to offer to you, our patrons and friends, three Christmas Concerts at three different locations and a performance of the complete oratorio “Messiah”, by George Frederic Handel, when we will be welcoming world renowned soloists Heidi Hayes, Soprano, Jennifer Brown - Laubach, Mezzo - Alto, Jeffrey Dinsmore, Tenor and Richard Johnson, Bass - Baritone. We will once again be joined by our Festival Orchestra for this performance in the historic Mauch Chunk Opera House in Jim Thorpe.

We also have a wonderful Spring Concert being planned, which will include a premiere performance of a solo piano and orchestral piece titled “In Tribute to My Father,” as I honor my father, who passed away this past June.

Please check our website regularly for concert dates, times and locations and I urge you to come, listen, ponder and enjoy God’s gift of music as we present our concerts to you and to God, as we glorify His name.

 Always,

 Randall Douglas Perry

Artistic Director and Conductor
